Guggenheim Museum Field Trip
On Friday February
3rd
, my class group visited The Solomon R. Guggenheim
Museum in New York City. The Guggenheim Museum was designed by Frank Lloyd
Wright. My first impression of the building , it looks like a beautiful white ice -
cream
cone
. One attractive piece captured my eyes , Pablo Picasso - Three Bathers ,
1920. The woman , all nude and
enjoying the sun and the sea breeze, one of them sitting
seems like thinking deeply and the other woman lying down reading. One amongst the
three is swimming, maybe free style but looks like she knows how to swim
.
I wonder
what Picasso imagined when painting these women with big hands and arm more like a
man’s body structure.
The second piece that captured my eyes is the Landscape with
Snow , made by Vincent van Gogh in 1888, and it is a beautiful piece with different
colors. It reminds me of my home in Yemen and makes me sad. I am happy to be part of
this experience with my lovely teacher and my colleagues.
